As spiritual beings we crave to inspire and to be inspired. And there’s something REALLY INSPIRATIONAL about sand art.

Sacred Geometry and Circles

Sacred geometry is everywhere in nature: sunflowers, the nautilus, honeycomb and even hurricanes. Sacred geometry has also been used in the planning and construction of religious structures such as churches, temples, mosques, religious monuments, altars, tabernacles; as well as for sacred spaces such as temenoi, sacred groves, village greens and holy wells.

In the ancient world certain numbers had symbolic meaning, in addition to their ordinary use for counting or calculating.

Not only was sacred geometry used by Leonardo da Vinci and Pythagorus but it’s making a contemporary comeback in crop circles, new age science and yes – you guessed it – sand art!

Jim Denevan

Jim Denevan makes temporary drawings on sand, earth and ice that are eventually erased by waves and weather. All of the pictures above are his work. Considering the awesome factor of his artwork, he’s definitely the original sand badass – who like Teddy Roosevelt – walks quietly and carries a big sta-ick.

Religion

The ability to communicate has always played an important role in our world. Whether thought, spoken or written on a beach, words can transform the world we live in.

Love, laughter, heroism, friendship, and almost every emotion we feel can be inspired by words. Unfortunately fear, anger, and hatred, can also be invoked by words.

Charlie Sheen is a special human. What’s up with this guy?

In the total absence of the Divine a lot people get lost and confused. They search for the Divine – whether it’s connection, ecstasy, peace or safety – in material and artificial places like drugs, sex  and ego trips. It’s pretty obvious that’s what he’s doing.

I recommend Charlie stops doing so many drugs and chats with my friend Dannion Brinkley. Sometimes it takes a wild thing to know a wild thing.

If you haven’t noticed, we humans like to get nakey on the beach.

You might be wandering what sexuality has to do with spirituality. Welp, I’m glad you asked.

In short, Spirituality is how we relate to God, Goddess, the Divine, our Creator, Great Spirit, our Higher Self, the Infinite Intelligence, Soul, Essence, etc.

And sacred sex is one of the easiest and most available paths to get there – kind of like mediation, prayer and contemplation.

Sudarsan Pattnaik

Sudarsan Pattnaik (pictured above) is a sand artist from India.

Impoverished as a child, Sudarsan Pattnaik came from obscurity to become one of the most famous sand artists in the world. His artwork is waaaay more than just sand castles. Check out his best sculptures here.

Sudarsan Pattnaik’s story is truly inspirational.
